Large Outdoor Sauna with Lounge Room: Dual-Space Retreat

As resorts, glamping sites, spa centers, and backyard wellness projects continue to grow in popularity, people’s expectations for saunas are evolving beyond a simple hot steam bathing space. Today, more customers are looking for multifunctional and integrated wellness solutions.
To meet this demand, Alphasauna has developed a large outdoor sauna with lounge room, combining a traditional sauna area with a comfortable relaxation space. This innovative design seamlessly integrates heat therapy and relaxation, allowing users to enjoy a complete wellness experience in one structure.

What Makes This Large Outdoor Sauna with Lounge Room Unique?

Compared with traditional sauna rooms, this large outdoor sauna with lounge room offers significant improvements in design, functionality, and user experience.

Large Modern Outdoor Design

From the outside, this sauna features a spacious rectangular structure with a sleek and contemporary appearance. Its generous interior accommodates multiple users, making it suitable for family gatherings, team-building activities, and commercial outdoor sauna projects.
Unlike traditional barrel or pitched-roof saunas, this model incorporates smooth curved lines that enhance both aesthetics and practicality. The curved roof design effectively channels rainwater away from the structure, reducing moisture damage and extending the lifespan of the sauna while lowering maintenance costs.
Whether installed in a private backyard, forest retreat, luxury hotel, or wellness resort, this luxury outdoor sauna creates a visually striking focal point.

Innovative Dual Sauna Steam Room Design

The most distinctive feature of this dual outdoor sauna is its innovative dual-space layout. The structure consists of two connected rooms: a sauna room on the left and a lounge area on the right, separated by an interior partition and connected through a glass door.
When the glass door is open, both areas become one open and connected space, allowing users to move freely between them. When closed, the two rooms function independently.
The transition from the high-temperature sauna room to the comfortable relaxation area is smooth and enjoyable. This dual sauna steam room design is ideal for resorts, glamping sites, spa centers, wellness retreats, and private gardens. Compared with traditional single-room saunas, it improves space efficiency while delivering a more complete sauna experience.

Sauna Interior Layout

Entering through the front steps and glass entrance door, users are welcomed into a warm and inviting sauna area.
This sauna room follows a traditional Finnish sauna layout, featuring two-tier sauna benches, a wood fired sauna stove, and tempered glass windows that provide natural lighting while maintaining an authentic sauna atmosphere.

Multi-Level Sauna Benches for Different Temperature Preferences

Temperature naturally varies at different seating heights inside a sauna. To accommodate different preferences, the double-layer bench system allows every user to find their ideal heat level.
Beginners may choose the lower bench or seats farther from the stove for a milder experience, while experienced sauna enthusiasts can sit on the upper benches or closer to the heater to enjoy more intense heat exposure.

High-Efficiency Wood Fired Sauna Stove

The centerpiece of the sauna area is our high-performance wood fired sauna stove. Constructed from heat-resistant cast iron, the stove leverages the material’s exceptional heat retention and thermal conductivity to deliver a steady, sustained heat output.
To ensure the safe operation of the wood fired sauna stove, we have installed heat-insulating protective panels in key areas surrounding the stove body, specifically where the chimney passes through the sauna ceiling, where the back of the stove faces the sauna wall, and beneath the stove itself. These panels effectively prevent direct contact between high-temperature surfaces and the wood, thereby reducing the risk of fire.
At the same time, a wood fired sauna stove delivers the unique experience of a traditional Finnish sauna. The natural aroma of wood combined with the visual ambiance of burning logs creates a superb sauna experience a charm that electric heating units struggle to replicate.

Side Window for Natural Lighting

The interior is spacious, requiring ample lighting to ensure a comfortable experience. To alleviate the sense of confinement often associated with enclosed saunas, we incorporated a transparent glass window above the left-hand seating area. Natural light streams in through the window, brightening the interior and creating an open, airy feel that counters any sense of enclosure. When situated in an outdoor setting such as by a lakeside, in a forest, or amidst mountain scenery, this design allows users to admire the landscape while enjoying their sauna session, fostering a deep connection between body, mind, and nature.

Comfortable Lounge and Recovery Area

After enjoying a sauna, the body needs time to recover. Therefore, a comfortable relaxation area enhances the sauna experience.

Spacious Seating Area for Social Gatherings

Pass through the central glass door to enter the separate lounge area.
The rest area features an open-plan layout with a casual table in the center and benches on either side. A transparent glass window positioned high on the wall adjacent to the table further enhances natural lighting, creating a bright, spacious environment suitable for use by multiple people simultaneously.

Relax Place Between Sauna Sessions

Alternating between high-heat sauna sessions and rest intervals is a key element of traditional sauna culture. Users can relax on spacious chairs, resting with their eyes closed, rehydrating, and letting their bodies recover, or socialize with friends and read. Compared to leaving the sauna area immediately to rest, a dedicated internal relaxation zone offers a more natural transition in temperature.

Why Are Multifunctional Outdoor Saunas Becoming More Popular?

The wellness industry is currently racing to deploy multifunctional, dual-zone outdoor saunas to boost market competitiveness and enhance commercial value. For commercial venues, the “one room, two zones” design significantly improves space utilization and adds value to the project. Consumers benefit from a more comprehensive wellness experience, while the aesthetically striking design holds inherent appeal. For investors, this design drives higher customer satisfaction and repeat business.
Below are three of Alphasauna’s best-selling multifunctional saunas:

Black Painted Shower Sauna

Finished in black lacquer, the solid wood structure is waterproof and weather-resistant. The space is divided into two sections: the left side features a high-temperature sauna equipped with a wood-fired stove, while the right side houses a separate shower offering a seamless sauna and shower experience that integrates perfectly with the outdoor courtyard.

Sauna and Cold Plunge Combo

This dual-zone wellness unit combines a sauna room with an integrated cold therapy area equipped with a cold plunge tub and seating, making hot and cold contrast therapy easy and convenient.

Sauna with Changing Room

This classic barrel sauna includes a dedicated changing and relaxation area at the front of the structure, providing separate zones for changing clothes and enjoying sauna sessions.

FAQs

Question1：How Are Your Saunas Packaged and Shipped?

Answer：To reduce shipping costs and simplify international delivery, our saunas are shipped in flat-pack form. After assembly testing, all wooden components are carefully packed into reinforced wooden crates, using protective materials like EPE foam to safeguard fragile items such as glass. This packaging method minimizes shipping volume and complies with overseas warehouse and large-item logistics requirements.

Question2：Which Wood Species Do You Recommend for Different North American Climates?

Answer：For outdoor applications, durability and weather resistance are critical. We typically recommend Canadian red cedar and thermowood pine or hemlock. All wood materials undergo strict kiln-drying processes to maintain optimal moisture content and minimize cracking or warping in extreme weather conditions.

Question3：What Marketing and After-Sales Support Do You Provide for Distributors and Retailers?

Answer：Alphasauna provides comprehensive warranty coverage, online technical support, and installation guidance. We also supply high-quality product images, installation videos, technical specifications, and marketing materials to help distributors and retailers promote products more effectively.
